10 Nights Rome, Milan & Lake Garda Or Lake Como Vacation W/Air

We stayed here two days before a cruise and one day after a cruise in June 2024. It's a nice, clean hotel and served its purpose. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions we had. Yes, the rooms are small, and the elevator is small. Just make it work people. There is a taxi stand out and to the right across the street. The bus stop is right across the street. The staff can sell you a 90 minute ticket. We did not use the metro, but I believe it is a couple of blocks away. There's a few restaurants nearby that seem more authentic and reasonable than those near sightseeing areas. Some are closed in the late afternoon until 7:30 because they eat later there. We ate at Pepe's around the corner a few times and really liked it. You will pay for a bottle of water, about 2.50-3.50 euros everywhere. There's also convenient stores and a pharmacy nearby. There's bar service from 7PM-9PM in the lobby, first round is free. There's breakfast in the morning til 9AM that we ate at every morning that was very good. Scrambled eggs, bacon , ham slices, cheese, fruit, various pastries, juice, milk, coffee. Nice staff there too, and a nice view. Check-in is at 1PM, but we got lucky and our room was ready at 11:30 both times. The A/C in the room was nice to have after walking around in the heat all day. We rode bus 87 from across the street down to the Coloseum for $1.40 euro I think, bought the ticket from the front desk, scan it on the machine when you get on. From there we walked to other areas. But there are other times we needed taxis for various reasons. If you're good at dealing with mass transit, you can get around Rome fairly easily it seems. One thing we're told by the taxis, I suppose is true, is the hotel is not in the central (within the Aurelian Wall) of Rome, so the rate will go up some, even though it is VERY close. Currently, it's 50 euros from the airport to hotels in the city center, it was 65 for us. A ripoff, but not the hotel's fault. Be very careful dealing with taxis, they will try to rip you off one way or another, or say they don't take credit cards etc. so they can raise the rate. Best to use an app, they don't have Uber drivers I don't believe, but the app links to the Italian taxi app that locks in the payment within a certain range, so that's the best way. Taxis usually don't stop when hailed, they stop at taxi pool areas. But our stay was nice, and the staff definitely helped with our American questions. Thank you to them. Every shift we interacted with was helpful. Definitely a good deal we thought, and I would stay there again.

Well situated near the metro station and shops some lovely restaurants within walking distance. Also lovely cafe eateries close by. Hotel staff were on hand to answer any questions and friendly, we had an early flight they phoned a taxi 2 am arrived within 10 minutes. Hotel was clean free coffee machine at the side of lifts. Rooms were clean and tidy small but functional great shower we were on the third floor I would suggest a room with a balcony great shower. Although on the front the road is very busy but not noisy in room. Would recommend especially for a short stay. Metro easy to use for getting to sightseeing destination.

A truly wonderful stay at Best Western Piccadilly. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Chiara on reception. She was informative and helped us plan our sightseeing. We stayed on the 8th floor with fantastic views across the city. Breakfast was delicious each morning. Julio on reception was helpful in ordering a taxi at 430am to return to the airport. Great staff. Clean hotel. Ideally situated. We walked to colleseum, Trevi fountain, Pantheon and Spanish steps. Metro close by. The staff are a credit to the hotel. Excellent service throughout. Chiara was amazing. We will definately be returning. A huge thank you.
